Chapter 4: A Needed EscapeAfter taking a while to traverse the area in her new form, she realized she was hungry. Not just a little peckish, but starving. Her belly started rumbling indignantly, seemingly complaining in confusion as to why it hadn't been fed yet.Chapter 4: A Needed Escape by Anacondaphilist
The serpent knew she had to find food, but from what she had seen of the storage space, there were only two exits: the door, which she unfortunately had no hope of opening; and the small crevice through which the mouse had come, which she could barely fit her head into. With dismay and a frustrated whipping of her tail, she realized she was trapped in yet another cage, though a bigger one at that.
She slithered around the perimeter of the room again, finding many cracks and crevices in the walls, but none of which were even remotely large enough for her. When she came to the door, she raised her head up past the door knob and wrapped her neck around it, but as she had suspected, she did not weigh enough to pull down the lever, a
The Prison: Part 8"A poison!?" I exclaim fearfully. "You mean I'm poisoned!?"The Prison: Part 8 by Anacondaphilist
She doesn't reply, just sighs.
I start to hyperventilate, breathing in gasps again, and my body trembles.
If we can get you to one of your apothecaries quickly, though, we should be able to save you, she says in a more reassuring tone.
"Should!?" I cry, my voice unusually high as my mind struggles to comprehend the fact that I am probably going to die. I take a moment to close my eyes and try to calm down, taking deeper breaths. "Okay," I say, swallowing loudly as I come to grips with my situation.
We have already entered the forest that skirts a side of the city, following a path leading ahead. The hydra's swift yet elegant slithering causes me to bob around a bit on my perch atop her head. Massive pine and spruce trees move past quickly as birds chatter musically, but none of the beauty around does anything to alleviate my worry.
Do you know of any apothecaries in the area? the hyd
The Prison: Part 7"Ah!" I cry in pain. I shake the painful simmering droplet off of my hand and press my hand firmly against my shirt. The pain is excruciating; I can still feel a small remnant of the blood left inside, seething against my flesh. The Prison: Part 7 by Anacondaphilist
I look up from my hand and my jaw drops. The hydra's left head, which she was using to cover me against the hailstorm of arrows (and she had moved afterward, thankfully), has an eight-foot barb sticking all the way through at an angle. Blood is pouring out of both ends of the wound, already quickly causing what is undoubtedly a ballista bolt to dissolve to nothing. In my mind, I can sense the great pain the hydra is in as she continues to slither swiftly forward.
My shock does not permit me to cry, though I am sure I would be bawling otherwise. I grimace and breathe in gasps from the constant burning pain, still holding my hand against my clothing.
The hydra keeps quickly moving despite her suffering, her heads and, consequen
Chapter 1: The Experiment The air felt heavy and humid, saturated with fumes from the numerous flasks and vials of chemicals open to it. The balding man didn't mind, however; this was nothing he didn't get at his meth lab back home in the slum. Besides, he welcomed the stench. It reminded him that he was doing what he did best: chemistry. The main difference between this lab and the other was the end product.Chapter 1: The Experiment by Anacondaphilist
The chemist was short, about 5'8", and stocky. His overly-white face was old and worn and bore numerous scars from burns he had received while working with various corrosive chemicals. His mouth showed that he frowned more than smiled, and his forehead was riddled with wrinkles, more from its maltreatment than from age. What little hair he had left was greying from a dark brown. He was dressed in a stained lab coat and tattered apron.
Perhaps it needs more carbon tetrachloride...
As he walked over to a rickety shelf to his left, he
